Drilling of New Wells

Our clean water provision includes interventions such as drilling and developing new water sources in schools and communities. It is a comprehensive process that involves community participation and the use of contractors with drilling rigs. Prior to drilling, hydrogeological surveys are conducted to determine ground water potential. The drilling process involves the use of advanced drilling rigs, which are operated by skilled contractors who follow all the necessary safety protocols and standard operating procedures. The community is actively involved in the entire process, from identifying potential drilling sites to monitoring the drilling process. Once the well has been drilled, a Water User Committee is established and trained on all aspects of operation and maintenance and other lifecycle costs processes, ensuring that it remains functional for years to come. The drilling and development of new water sources in schools and communities is a critical component of our broader efforts to promote sustainable water security all year round. By providing reliable sources of water, communities are empowered to improve their livelihoods and reduce poverty.
